Q. How do I find a journal article?

Journal articles can be found by searching any number of our electronic resources and in some cases, our print indexes and print journals.

To find an online journal article, we suggest you start your search with our discovery (think Google for the library) search called Tiger Prowl. Tiger Prowl is located in the center of our library homepage and it searches all of our resources - journal articles, books, videos, etc. - at one time. When searching Tiger Prowl for articles, use the limiters in the search results to select "Academic Journals" or "Peer-Reviewed/Scholarly Journals."

Type your keywords (avoid typing in an entire question or sentence) for your research topic into the search box to begin your search.

Jarrett Library has thousands of journals articles in many databases - Tiger Prowl is just a starting place. Explore the databases listed under Databases A to Z to find databases that are specific to your research topic. For example, you might look for databases specific to Psychology (sort by subject Psychology in Databases A to Z) if you are doing research on ADHD and cognition.

If you know the name of the journal and are looking for a specific article, you'll want to consult our Journals A to Z page under FIND IT on our library homepage. Use the search box to search for the title of the journal (not the article). This will tell you if we have the journal available in electronic or print format and how to find it.
