The library subscribes to the Marshall News Messenger in print. A copy is available in the newspaper rack on in Heritage Court (main level) of the library. We also keep two weeks of the print newspaper available on request. Please ask a member of the library team to retrieve a back issue for you.

The library has microfilm access to the Marshall News Messenger with coverage beginning in 1877 and spanning through 2004.To view this microfilm please see a librarian or library staff member.

Our electronic coverage begins in Access World News from 2004-present. To view the Access World News Database go to "Databases A to Z" on the library homepage and click on the "A" tab. From there, select Access World News. Marshall News Messenger will be an option for publication search when you enter the database.

Recently, the City of Marshall has begun to make digital copies of the historic News Messenger archives available on their website. Go to http://www.marshalltexas.net/residents/archived_articles to search from 1849 into the late 20th century.
