We hope it never happens, but occasionally people don't realize that they are being loud in the library. If someone is being loud in the library and it is disturbing you or others around you, here's what you can do:
First, make sure you are in an area that is intended for quiet study:
- Quiet Study Areas - Lower stacks area of the library
- Group Study Areas - Main level soft seating & Heritage Room
If you are in a group study area, be aware that talking is permitted. Please move to the quiet study area.
If you are in the quiet study area and someone if causing a disruption, please notify a member of the library staff. You can find a member of the staff at the Circulation desk (front), Reference desk, or you can anonymously chat with us by clicking the HELP button on our library homepage.
It is possible that the patron doesn't realize he or she is being disruptive. If you feel comfortable, you might simply ask them politely to lower their voices.
